JO LILLA Mode Design

Logo and business card design for JO LILLA, a Mode Designer based in Zürich, Switzerland. JO LILLA website here.

My business card - an homage to typography

I have created my own business card. I've used a few different fonts, as I like the way they all look together. My own personal way of showing the important role that typography takes throughout my work and communication process.

Ana Monteiro’s own business card on dark fabric, mixing bold condensed capitals, script and typewriter-style type with dotted rules and the word “Designer”
Card close-up: the script line “a graphic designer based in Zürich”, “Designer” in bold between dotted rules, and “graphic communication” in typewriter type
Close-up of the business card’s corner: “Ana Monteiro” in bold condensed capitals beside her email in script and her phone number in a light typewriter face

Omnia Ars

Logo-type design and branding work for Omnia Ars an antique shop in Benavente, Portugal.
I started by doing many, many very rough sketches, drawing out the name using different styles and pens. The concept I developed uses thin stroke lines on the letters "o" and "a" both initials. Colour palette exploration revolved around natural shades for an old, woody feel and a golden yellow for brightening.
Helvetica Neue Ultra Light was used as it has a good balance between having a strong personality and looking clean, professional and elegant.
I also designed business cards and letterheads. The set-up of the colour palette (bright accent colour, main colour and dark background) was used to create a visual style and layout.

Omnia Ars identity: the scribbled, hand-drawn “oa” monogram with a brush-tip flourish in black and gold, a four-colour palette strip, a letterhead with branded pencils, and business cards

Kely Mely

Logo-type and branding work for Kely Mely - a portuguese bijouterie artist who creates wonderful hand-made pieces.
In terms of visual style, the aim was to combine a sketchy, raw materials inspired feel with a subtle one. Including a touch of hand-illustration was an important element to consider, too.
The concept I developed uses a round logo with a spiral stroke inside, following the shape of the circle, alluding to the wire wrapped spiral bendings that are frequently used in hand-made bijouterie.
