I was contacted my the manager of Kateryna, a pianist from Ukraine, based in Zurich, to create a CD cover for her first recording project. After meeting Kateryna I understood that she was looking for a vintage aesthetic in order to welcome the listener to an enriching and nostalgic environment. There was a considerably amount of text to fit within each page of the CD cover (plus a photo) and for this reason I focused a lot on typography and legibility. I chose a serif font due to his decorative tails and strokes, classic and refined, like Kataryna's music. Textures were created based on mixed media (oil paint, ink, charcoal) also a contribution for the desired vintage feeling.

This is Katerynas's first recording project and it reflects her love of music, friends, and family from childhood to present.

CD cover: Kateryna Tereshchenko in sepia, looking down at sheet music, with her name and the composers Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Chopin and Debussy in serif capitals on aged paper
The full CD packaging laid flat: booklet pages about the performers with sepia concert photos, the track list, the cover, and the disc printed with the same aged-paper texture
Animation of the printed CD in hand: the digipak is opened, booklet pages with musician photos are turned, the disc is shown in its tray, then the back with the track list
Business cards: a white card with a large serif “K.” and contact details, and a black card with “Kateryna Tereshchenko, Pianist” and a strip of white piano keys
